Collaboration

Collaboration is Key to Success

When I started as a Soul Coach ® I found myself trudging forward on my own.  I had a great group of "Soul sisters and brothers" from my Soul Coaching training, but no one lived remotely near me.  Then to top that off, I didn't know anyone in my area who was doing this sort of work, and my competitive mind told me to not befriend them anyway, since they were my ruthless competition.

Now fast forward to now, a couple of years later, and a few falls in the wrong direction, and I have found the opposite to be true.  We really do in fact need help and we need to work with others if we want to succeed in anything we do.

I should have known  this, since as a nurse my job can not be done without collaboration.  On most shifts, us nurses are pulled in ten directions with each patient demanding and insisting on seeing them NOW.  I don't know about you, but I only have 2 arms and 2 legs.  In fact if there was ever to be mutated arm it would first grow on a nurse.

But instead of looking funny with a third arm, I have come to embrace help.  My divorce also taught me to ask for help.  Owning a house has made me reach out to the handy people of this world and ask them for help too.

Now, owning a thriving coaching practice, I see how important it is to reach out to anyone and everyone, including my competitors.  These connections have opened doors that I never would have known existed.  I meet one person, who introduces me to another, and then another (you get the point).  Soon enough, I have leads to write in magazines, speaking engagements and new clients.

I have made it my mission to reach out and collaborate more and to treat these connections as gold.  I have made some amazing new friends and have gotten answers to questions that have been baffling on my own.

This world is richer when we reach out and connect.  So whatever you are going through right now, I invite you to ask for help.  Ask for advice.  Ask for the nearest workshop, mastermind group, or Meetup (one of my favorites of course!).  Then watch your world open up to all of the possibilities that are available to you, simply because you asked.
